Article : Malaga car hire

Though there are frequent buses from the south coast to Seville and Granada, the only way to really explore all the Costa del Sol region has to offer, is with a car rental.

Malaga Airport, a two-and-a-half to three hour flight from most parts of the UK, is about 9km from the city centre and acts as the pick-up point for most car hire companies. To find cheap car hire in Malaga it is best to book in advance to guarantee your vehicle and to avoid the hassle of hunting for a good deal at the airport.

Once you have picked up your hire car in Malaga you can head out of town to Puerto Banus, Torremolinos, the Benalmadena Costa Estepona and Nerja and stop off at some of the quieter beaches along the coast. With car hire in Malaga you can also see the surrounding region of Andalucia and particularly Seville, a city enriched with history and the home of the Alcazar, which dates back to 913. Car hire is the quickest way to reach Gibraltar too - which is around an hour and 30 minutes from Malaga Airport.

Temperatures in Malaga peak in July and August though they remain warm throughout most of the spring and autumn, which provides ideal conditions to venture to Granada, home of the Alhambra palace that sits against the backdrop of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
